Mutations

MUTATIONS
The project uses the original protein molecules of SARS COV-2 as Beta, Gamma and Delta and poetically transforms them into a parametric code where it occurs the mutation of the three variants. The research project originated from an artistic residency that the artist carried out at the IRB Barcelona, Instituto de Pesquisa em Biomedicina in July 2020 to 2021. The scientists provided me with the “spike protein” molecules of the SARS COV-2 mutations that were manipulated. for a parametric design and 3 3D printed objects using filaments that change color on contact with the ultraviolet light.

Credits:
The project had the participation of the IRB Barcelona - Research Institute in Biomedicine Miłosz Wieczor and Muriel Arimon Bedós, PhD who helped during project research and Ivan Marchuk from In-Generic responsible for design parametric.

Material: 3D printed objects using filament sensitive to UV light that changes color. UV lantern and NFT video animation.
Instructions: Illuminate 3D objects using the UV flashlight.
